Educational Qualification

For all four notified posts, the prescribed minimum qualification is:

Degree from a recognized University or its equivalent.

The candidate must already possess the prescribed qualification from a recognized Institute/Board/University by the last date of online application. Candidates awaiting final examination results are not eligible. RRB NTPC

Important Qualification Rule

The notification states that provisional/regular educational certificates should contain the date of issue. Where the certificate is issued after the closing date, the candidate must produce the relevant consolidated/semester mark sheets showing the date of declaration of the final result, as applicable. RRB NTPC

Age Limit

Age is calculated as on 01 January 2027.

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 33 years

Date-of-birth limits specified in the notification:

Both dates are inclusive. RRB NTPC

Age Relaxation

If eligible for age relaxation on more than one ground, only the maximum applicable relaxation is allowed; relaxations are not cumulative. RRB NTPC

Nationality / Citizenship

A candidate must be:

1.      A citizen of India; or

2.      A subject of Nepal; or

3.      A subject of Bhutan; or

4.      A person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.

For categories requiring a Certificate of Eligibility, the certificate issued by the Government of India must be produced during Document Verification. RRB NTPC

Selection Process / Recruitment Process

The recruitment process consists of:

1.      1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)

2.      2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)

3.      Document Verification (DV)

4.      Medical Examination (ME)

5.      Empanelment / Appointment

The RRB may conduct additional CBTs if considered necessary. RRB NTPC

Important: Typing Test

For CEN 06/2026, the typing skill test has been dispensed with for:

• Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist
• Senior Clerk Cum Typist

However, candidates are expected to have basic computer and adequate typing proficiency. Proficiency will be assessed after joining and unsatisfactory performance may affect/delay confirmation or promotion. RRB NTPC

1st Stage CBT

• Duration: 90 minutes
• PwBD/PwD candidates eligible for scribe: 120 minutes
• Each question carries 1 mark.
• Negative marking: 1/3 mark for every wrong answer.
• 1st Stage CBT is screening in nature. RRB NTPC

Minimum Qualifying Percentage

• UR: 40%
• EWS: 40%
• OBC-NCL: 30%
• SC: 30%
• ST: 25%

The same community-based qualifying percentage applies to Ex-Serviceman and PwBD candidates. PwBD qualifying marks may be relaxed by 2 marks in case of shortage of PwBD candidates against reserved vacancies. RRB NTPC

2nd Stage CBT

Candidates are shortlisted based on normalized 1st Stage CBT marks. Normally, 15 times the community-wise vacancies are shortlisted for the 2nd Stage CBT. RRB NTPC

• Duration: 90 minutes
• Eligible PwBD/PwD candidates with functional writing limitation: 120 minutes
• Negative marking: 1/3 mark per wrong answer
• Normalization is applicable where CBT is conducted in multiple sessions.

The PDF specifies the initial pay, not a complete in-hand salary calculation. RRB NTPC

3.      Select RRB & Post Preferences.

4.      Fill Online Application Form with personal, educational and category details.

5.      Upload Signature & Required Documents and complete live photo capture.

6.      Pay Application Fee Online through UPI/Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking.

7.      Submit Final Application and save/print the application confirmation for future reference.
