Identity Verification

Identity verification is compulsory at Stage-I, Stage-II and Stage-III.

Biometric

  • Normally left thumb biometric is captured at Stage-I.
  • If left thumb cannot be captured, right thumb is used.
  • No other finger is considered.
  • Candidates must ensure that fingerprint can be captured.
  • Mehndi/wax or similar conditions preventing fingerprint capture may result in being denied the examination.

Failure in any identity verification can lead to cancellation.


Stage-II

Candidates are shortlisted based on Stage-I performance and the handling capacity of ICG Recruitment Centres.

Stage-II generally lasts 1–2 days.

Assessment & Adaptability Test

  • Conducted after qualifying PFT.

  • Marks may be used for tie-breaking.
  • Result is announced at the venue.

Tie-Breaking

If candidates have the same Stage-I marks:

1.      Older candidate gets higher merit.

2.      If required, higher Assessment Test marks are considered.

Recruitment Medical Examination

Candidates qualifying document verification undergo recruitment medical examination.

Candidates found medically unfit may appeal before the designated Armed Forces medical hospital.

The candidate must report to the designated hospital within 14 days of completion of the recruitment medical examination.

The appeal medical examination is final.

No further appeal is permitted.


Stage-III

Candidates who qualify Stages I and II and stand in merit according to vacancies are provisionally shortlisted for Stage-III.

Tattoo Rules

Permanent body tattoos are generally not permitted.

However:

  • Certain concessions are available to candidates belonging to tribal communities declared by Government of India.
  • For other candidates, permanent tattoos are permitted only on:
    • Inner face of forearms, from inside of elbow to wrist
    • Reverse/back side of palm/hand.

Other Medical Conditions

The PDF states:

  • Certain predominant opposite-gender characteristics on external physical examination can result in rejection.
  • Candidates who have undergone gender reassignment surgery are declared unfit.
  • Pregnancy results in disqualification for female candidates.
  • Female candidates undergo the specified gynaecological examination.

Examination City

Candidates must give examination-city preferences for Stage-I.

The first preference should be the city nearest to the candidate's present/communication residence.

19. Original documents will be scrutinized at multiple stages.

20. ICG can reject an application if the candidate is found ineligible at any stage, including after induction.

21. Mobile phones and electronic gadgets are prohibited during examination.

22. Possession of mobile/Bluetooth/recording/scanning/hearing/capturing equipment can result in cancellation and FIR.

23. Candidates are frisked before examination.

24. Candidates cannot leave the examination venue/hall after the written examination and biometric registration has commenced.

25. ICG does not guarantee safe custody of electronic devices.

26. Candidates must report suspicious activity to the invigilator.

27. ICG may cancel or postpone an examination due to administrative/technical/logistical issues.

28. Re-examination is at the discretion of ICG/examination conducting body.

29. Candidates have no claim for re-examination.

30. Corrigendum will be published on www.ssc.gov.in.

31. Candidates must check FAQs on the portal.

32. Additional documents cannot be uploaded after selection of Stage-II date and centre.

33. Expiring category/domicile certificates must be renewed and both old and renewed certificates must be carried.

34. Original documents must be brought to the recruitment stages.

35. DOB and gender information cannot be changed at a later stage.

36. Aadhaar should be uploaded as the first identity-proof option where the candidate possesses Aadhaar.

37. Persons with any kind of disability are not eligible according to the advertisement.

38. Candidates cannot marry/contract marriage or keep family with them during training.

39. Candidates must not misbehave or create disorder at examination premises.

40. Impersonation can result in FIR/criminal proceedings against both applicant and proxy candidate.

41. ICG's decision regarding recruitment eligibility and examination stages is final and binding.

42. Candidates whose previous candidature was cancelled for malpractice/misbehaviour are ineligible.
