The Chhattisgarh Forest and Climate Change Department invited applications for direct recruitment to 1,484 Forest Guard posts in various forest divisions/offices. The original advertisement was issued on 20 May 2023, and a re-application window was provided from 12 June 2024 to 1 July 2024. The recruitment process includes physical measurement, physical efficiency test, written examination, bonus marks and walking test. Educational Qualification

The candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) from a recognized board.


Age Limit

The age is calculated as on 01 January 2023.

  • Maximum Age: 40 years

Age relaxation is available according to the applicable Government of Chhattisgarh rules.


Age Relaxation

Participation in all events is compulsory and the prescribed minimum performance requirements apply.


Written Examination

  • Total Marks: 100
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Total Questions: 100 objective-type questions
  • Marks per Question: 1
  • Questions will cover:
    • General Knowledge
    • Intelligence Ability
    • Analytical Ability
    • Mathematics
  • Negative Marking: 1/4 mark for an incorrect answer or marking more than one option.
  • No marks are awarded when no answer is marked.
  • Candidates up to 15 times the number of advertised vacancies, category-wise, may be called for the written examination based on the physical efficiency results.
  • Candidates securing the same minimum marks are eligible as per the stated provisions.

Bonus Marks


NCC

Candidates possessing:

  • NCC “C” Certificate
  • Minimum B Grade

are eligible for 5 bonus marks subject to the prescribed conditions.


Sports

Candidates meeting the prescribed sports achievement criteria in sports included in the Olympic/Asian Games list may receive 5 bonus marks.

Maximum Bonus Marks

Maximum bonus marks are limited to 10 marks.


Final Merit / Selection

The merit/selection process is based on:

  • Physical Efficiency Test: 100 marks
  • Written Examination: 100 marks
  • Bonus Marks: up to 10 marks

The walking test does not carry marks. However, candidates who fail to complete the prescribed distance within the specified time are not eligible for appointment.

For the Current Written Examination

1.      Visit the CGSSB website.

2.      Complete Profile Registration.

3.      Enter the required personal and other details.

4.      Select the online application for the second-level written recruitment examination.

5.      Fill in the application form as instructed.

6.      Pay the applicable examination fee online.

7.      Submit the application.

8.      Save/print the submitted application for future reference.

9.      Download the Admit Card from the CGSSB website approximately 7 days before the examination.

10. Take a printout of the Admit Card and carry it to the examination centre.

Examination Instructions

  • Candidates should reach the examination centre at least 2 hours before the examination.
  • The main gate will close 30 minutes before the examination.
  • No candidate will be allowed to enter after the examination begins.
  • Light-coloured half-sleeve clothing is prescribed.
  • Certain dark colours are prohibited.
  • Candidates are instructed to wear slippers as footwear.
  • Jewellery in the ears is prohibited.
  • Candidates cannot leave the examination room during the first and last 30 minutes.
  • Mobile phones, electronic devices, electronic watches, purses, pouches, scarves, belts, caps and similar prohibited items are not allowed.
  • Candidates wearing religious/cultural attire may have to report earlier and undergo additional security checks.

Question Paper / OMR

  • The question paper contains three identical barcode stickers.
  • There are 100 objective questions.
  • Each question carries 1 mark.
  • Each question has four options.
  • Only one option should be marked on the OMR sheet.
  • Incorrect or multiple answers attract 1/4 negative marking.
  • Unanswered questions receive 0 marks.
